Ķ Even in the heat of tournament
fury, IÕve watched competitors with hundreds of thousands of dollars at stake
help each other against their own best interests. I canÕt tell you why these things are so wrapped up in the
fabric of Bass fishing. I can only
tell you that itÕs real and itÕs good.
And the lessons are forever.
Generally,
a fishermanÕs life goes through four stages. In the first stage, the goal is to catch fish----any fish
and lots of Ôem. In the second
stage, a fisherman works hard to be the best he can be at a particular part of
the sport, such as fishing for bass in tournaments. The third stage finds him chasing his favorite fish in
trophy size. But the fourth stage
that offers the most pay back, when he teaches others to catch a fish and gets
the satisfaction of watching them do it.
There is no credit to be given for this evolution, itÕs natural. And if you fish long enough, one
stage will follow the otherĶ.
